Our story

We took the coffee break out of the bakery, and turned it into a culture.

In 1994, four friends opened the first Waynes in central Stockholm, a cozy coffee shop that launched with a media buzz and even the Swedish royal family in attendance.

Curiosity and a passion for new flavors led to a fresh concept that combined quality coffee with unique Scandinavian design, setting a new standard for modern European coffee culture.

Waynes has always been more than coffee. We brought fika out of the home and into the city, turning it into a social ritual. A welcoming place for conversations, fresh food, and Swedish fika, enriched by Italian coffee artistry: a break from the day, an opportunity to connect over a cup, anytime.
